My Fall Secret Knitty Pal has me floored
So I'm told there are TWO packages for me. Mom dropped them to me in the morning that I had a Daddy doctor appointment. Three hours allocated for that. Then a few more as we run to the next town for chest X-rays.
I diligently get out my digital HP camera, and grab my cell phone just in case.
Hmm, let's get to the package first!
Oh! look! Some pale-green lace-weight. Complete with a set of patterns suitable for this lovely yarn.
It's so pretty!
It reminds me of the color of the ocean out near the rocks we're always warning the tourists off of.
I spy with my fanned-out pages, someone noticing that most of my knitting lately? has been in either lace or doggies. Meh, who am I kidding, plural? All Xocoatl, all the time!
And then we get to a box. A really big box with way too much stuff in it for a cheap swap. Already I'm blushing!
To which I begin to dig in, reluctantly so as to prolong the moment and yet with a barely-contained enthusiasm borne of it being way too long since I had a birthday party of any sort.
So I dig in.
:0 do you see this face? it comes with a jaw on my chest. Because, I was floored! Seriously, I could have stopped right there and this would have exceeded my expectations!
Yarn, patterns, and a stitch counter? EEE! The trepidations excitement is truly beginning to build. Cuz, really, THIS, to START?
Heh, ya think someone knows about one of my guilty pleasures? The sippin' of the latté at least once during the day. This may or may not have been polished off with a bottle of Crême de Mènthe. [And hey, those there accents? I winged it! and if I got it wrong just pull up a mug and you can become wrong with me!] Just to note, THIS is the picture that did the HP Camera in. From now on, I tried playing with my cell phone. Poor lighting, poorer quality, but I could no longer wait! >.<
Some yummily warm, Berkshire wool/alpaca. But here again, jaw drops of jaw drops........omfg, what is that below it? No, no it can't be! I have the most awesome SP! She noticed I mentioned wanting to learn Magic Loop and that my smallest diameter needles are US#4. Well not anymore, Dot! Now you have two stunningly gorgeous Knitpicks 40" wood circs! Some hyperventillation had to be handled. And no, it wasn't the alpaca fibers! Another time-out was required as I found the next layer, stifled a YELL, and ran to get one sleeping puppy. He wasn't quite sure why I'd woken him and let him into the kitchen but he seemed happy enough when I put it on him. For you see, dear readers, dear Knitties... my secret pal? is Secret Pal Extraordinaria! ['ta bruta as the workers say!]

Green yarns! in types I've never tried before and will love to be able to play with! There are some gorgeously dyed yarns in here. Oooooooooooh the green. Ooooh the jewel tones, the earth tones. And right on top? Some Noro for me to sample! How great is that! I can finally speak with authority on it. Oh, and the Disco? Xocoatl loves those around his neck; they make him look like a big ole lion to the other critters on our walks. Rawr!

For you see, dear readers, dear Knitties... my secret pal? is Secret Pal Extraordinaria! ['ta bruta as the workers say!]Because not only did she manage to track down Xocoatl's measurements.......she knit him a doggie sweater. Let me repeat that because, it is just that awesome. She knit Xocoatl a green sweater, that fits perfectly! and that is warmies and snuggly and is his new favorite pj's!
MORE PATTERNS! some for the cutest doggie sweaters! Cuz um, his closet is growing faster than mine! I'm always cold but he beats me. Shivering Chihuahuas are not cute! they're pathetic.
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, will you look at that shawl? Crystalline Shawl by Jade Sapphire. With two skeins of cashmere I see it in my future. Just as soon as I get me arse to some blocking wires so I can get the older ones off and ready and out of my way. Also, Knit In Style? I really like these patterns! they're very doable and comfy and adorable. I mean, I like looking at Vogue but... it's like their fashion mag to me ;)

But finally, I bring out the Big Guns. Or is that Big Ears and Eyes?
Xocoatl loves his sweater, truly loves it. It's good for sleeping!
Thank you, Secret Pal! you made our week!
